This WEB page is a resource for both our Altar Guild and Eucharistic Ministry.
It also serves the WEB site visitor looking for detailed information about "Practice of Word and Sacrament".
This is subjectively covered in a book titled “The Use and Means of Grace” for which a PDF file may be downloaded from the ELCA. See link below.
The Altar Guild helps provide care for the ,altar, altar cloths, candles, decorative banners, vestments, the
bread and wine, with care of the Sacristy and all supplies within.
Sometimes the Altar Guild plays an important role in special services such as the stripping of the altar. The Altar Guild
also works with preparing flower displays or putting up the manger display in front of the lecturn for
the Christmas season.
Our Eucharistic Ministry Program caters to our congregation
members who are homebound or in nursing homes. The liturgical element is an intrisic part
of the sacrament of communion. Providing this sacrament for the infirmed or homebound is an important extension of our Worship.
Serving in these ministries is a great opprtunity for lay persons to participate more fully in worship.
