It is with great joy that I write to you this day. By the grace of God and the guidance of the Holy Spirit, I was called to serve as pastor to Living Waters Lutheran Church in Ringoes, New Jersey on Sept 12th. I was ordained in the NJ Synod Ordination service on Sept 19th. It has been a whirlwind of a month, but when the Spirit moves you do the best you can to keep up! I will officially begin on Oct 1st. There are no words for my excitement and happiness as I approach this next stage in my life and ministry.
I cannot thank Gloria Dei Trinity enough for all it has done and meant to me over the past 30 years. Through your prayers and financial support I was able to attend and graduate from the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia. Sunday school, youth group, choir, and worship helped to shape my faith and understanding of my call to ordained ministry. I know I have been away from Highland for many years now, but Gloria Dei has always held a special place in my memory and heart. I give thanks to Pastor Milligan and Pastor Trexler who always offered their generous support and guidance to me over the years.
You will remain in my heart as I follow God’s call to a new congregation. I take comfort and strength as I go, knowing we all will continue to hold fast to the faith that united us and to be servants of God in the world. I do hope to be able to come see you at some point in the future. Until then, please pray for me and I will always pray and love all of you.
